Problem with sky sports

Just wondering if someone could give me a quick tipand save me 100 euro in service charge. I have a problem with my sky digital sports channel not working, comes up with an error message saying no satelite signal being received. Funny thing is all the other sky channels work. Could this be the dish blown off slightly, and if so, can someone give me a few tips on how to re-allign ?

    Thanks,
    Wexfordman

Check the LNB to make sure no dirt or anything is on it. Check the signal meter as well in the menu and if you do go and and re align the dish is takes 15 secs for the signal meter to react to the changes you made in the position on the dish.

You can try going into the service menu and turning the LNB off, exiting the menu to a channel, then going back into the service menu and turning the LNB on again.

This usually clears it, however if it keeps doing it you may need to replace the LNB as its duff...

Can remember how to access the service menu off the top of my head, you can either google it, or phone Sly, they will tell you how to do the above...

    rgs... peter.

Are you sure that absolutely no other channels are affected?

    Sky Sports 1 (Ireland) is on 12148 H 27500 2/3
    Sky Sports 1 (UK) is on 12110 H 27500 2/3
Tune in the UK version ( it works with an Irish card) through the 'add channels' menu and see if it works.

100 euro seems a bit steep for a service call, have you tried talking to some independents in your area ? might be worth a try if you cant resolve the problem.

Hope it works out for you

I agree with Tony, €100 seems mad considering they dont even know what needs replacing, if anything. Was this a quote from Sky?

If it's a problem with your dish then you should also be experiencing problems with Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Extra and the Sci-Fi channel as they are all on the same transponder.
Has this problem only started to occur lately??
What software version are you running on your digibox and what digibox make and model is it??
    regards
