Got a download of "Americas Army" and it turned up as four files - a CUE, a IMG, a CCD and a SUR. I hear you use these to burn a cd but I seem to be unable to do anything with them usong Roxio easy CD creater. Anyone know if there is a way I can use this without a cd?

Normall you get a cue + a bin file and burn them in Nero etc. IMG is normally just an ISO that you can burn straight away.

Download Alcohol 120%. Setup a virtual CD drive and then mount it with the cue file. Hopefully that will solve your problem. :)

You could use daemon tools to set up a virtual cd drive on your pc and use these to mount the images. Or failing that get VideoLan, which will read the video files from the cd images.

    Daemon Tools: www.daemon-tools.cc
    VideoLan: www.videolan.org

Cool! I never knew VLC Player could play ISOs directly. :)

It can also play rar'd video by feeding it any of the rars's which is extra cool :)

this kind of reminds me of that film with Robbin Williams, the one with the game the army made to train children as soilders.

Aye, it will play a rar'd iso/bin+cue of a video or just a rar'd vid. Very handy for checking what a set of rars are or the quality of the vid.... ;)

The only problem I have with VLC Player is if I move the slider it wrecks the video and I have to stop and start watching from the beginning. And when you press pause the sound stops before the video so when you press play again it takes a while to catch up. Anyone know how to fix this?

Well what a bag of useless information. Details people... details!!!! What are your system specs et all?

Ok going by the presumption that the video you downloaded was encoded with DivX and that you have a pretty slow system i'm guessing that your system can only handle the DivX decode to a certain extent, then as you see when you move the slider it goes tits up. This wouldn't just happen in VLC but in other media players too. Now, in future, when you're asking for help... tell us a little about your system so we can bloody well diagnose the problem properly!!!!

Sorry, there goes my Ask Luis impression for today...

Ok relax  . No it's not a slow system and the problem doesn't happen in any other players and it's not just DivX encoded files. It happens with .avi, .wmv, .mpg... all video files and they play just fine in Winamp. I figured it was either a bug in VLC Player or a codec problem.

    System specs :)
    Pentium M 1500Mhz
    512MB DDR-RAM
    ATI Mobility Radeon 9200
    XP Home
