Using Broadband with an alarm (Not phonewatch)

Anybody got any ideas about using broadband to notify remotely of any house alarm triggers. I.e. if my alarm goes off that I can use my gprs phone to view captured web cam images.

Now the capture and upload of images is no problem. The real issue is how the PC can connect or be triggered by the alarm. does anyone know of an alarms than can communicate with PC's?
