Just had a look at the 8 page Harvey Norman supplement in today's Irish Indo and I couldn't find one thing cheaper then DID, Power City, ESB etc.
"All stock slashed to clear" my ****.

Was out in Harvey Norman last week looking for beds/mattress's - cheapest thing was €229.00 for just a single bedstead on its own and thejn €45 for delivery.

Not cheap at all - got nearly identical thing in arramount furniture in Clondalkin for €99 and delivery only €25!

Wasnt very impressed by Harvey Norman at all - not what I expected!

I thought they were the dogs, what are they like for Plasmas and that, I was thinking of travelling from the West to buy a Plasma, would I be wasting my time??

Harvey Norman in general is a COMPLETE rip off. I always price around online and in shops (For electrical, furniture etc...) and have never found them to be cheaper.
    Sensational my ar$e.

I dunno how they stay open, honest to god.
Oh and also, does anyone else not feel like smashing up their radio everytime they hear their ad?? (...Go Harvey go!!)

Looked at double beds in Harveys and couldn't believe prices. Ended up buying in Navan with free delivery.(to Dublin)

Aussie mate assures me harvey is cheap over there, they obviously decided to change tac when they came over here.

With the Dundalk store the bargains are for people coming across the border with the strong pound and not for the local people. The store in Dublin could be because of the idiots you mentioned. The advertising campaign goes along the lines of that if we tell them enough times we are cheap they will end up believing it! I've been to the store a few times and the only offers l've see are the occasional USB flash drives for €20. imo No bargains.

Mind you, I would pay for 15 minutes alone with they guy who does the ads, provided I could have a hammer/bat/knife....

The local one here is a waste of time and there never seems to be anyone in it during week.
Weekends people allright, but mainly window shoppers.
But with their inflated prices they probably don't need massive sales.
Not the place for a bargain

Credit is a great way to get people to buy. For some reason they seem to forget it has to be paid back. I got one bargin there before but I reckon it was down to a price error rather than an actual bargin.

Harveys aren't any cheaper than any oter furniture store and they get exclusiveness to certain items which they then belive that they can put a huge markup on products and people can't compare prices with identical goods.

Go Harvey, Go Harey, why don't you just Feck OFF!!

Fair point, for what it's worth I've been looking for furniture for my house and found it much cheaper outside of Dublin (navan and monaghan). Also generaly free delivery
