    Howdy ,

Whenever I try to do this it rarely works. Usually it only works if I'm working off a file on my hard drive.

Anyone ever had this prob ? It's rather annoying. I'm on Win XP Pro SP2

I've the same OS and have no problem using Notepad to viewsource from IE6.

There is a notepad.com virus, maybe scan it in c:\windows\system32

Ah, interesting ... thanks for letting us know.

fwiw I switched to Firefox yesterday and it has a nice syntax highlighting option in it's viewer.
Tabbed windows and a cool download manager are very useful features :)
I've found some sites load quicker than IE but not all.

You can also use the firefox text find within the source window as well, which is quite nice. Also if you do "View Page Info" you can get a better view of forms and copy media off the page.

Tools - options - advanced - use find as you type
Once you start using this it's very difficult to go back...

Its the same thing I said.. However I use CTRL-F to activate as I've found certain pages give problems with find as you type, especially if your trying to enter into a form.
