I had the same problem with an AN7, i installed the NForce2 ethernet drivers and it detected it no problem, try that.

The relevant Nforce drivers are on the Abit website.

Ran the Cd a couple of times and still no joy... It actually says that it is installing the Ethernet components... Would it have anything to do with the BIOS setup?

you could have it disabled in the bios.

Seeing as the kt7 had no onboard ethernet (kt133 based chipset), you may want to find out what you actually do have.
