Today we mourn the passing of an old friend, he went by the name of Common
    Sense.
Common Sense lived a very long life, but died of neglect in the last decade
    or two.

No one knows how old he was, his birth records have been lost in bureacratic
red tape over the years. He selflessly devoted his life to service in
schools, hospitals, homes, factories and offices, helping people get jobs
    done without fanfare and foolishness.

For centuries, petty rules, silly laws and frivolous lawsuits held no power
over Common Sense. He is credited with cultivating such valued lessons as to
know when to come in out of the rain, and the early bird gets the worm, as
well as life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies such as, don't spend
    more than you earn.
Reliable parenting strategies, the adults are in charge not the kids.
It's ok to come second {or even last} as long as you tried your best.
He was a veteran of the industrial revolution, the great depression and the
    technological revolution.
He also survived cultural and educational trends including body
    piercing,computer language and new mathematics.

But his health started to decline when he became infected with the "if it
only helps one person then it's worth it" virus. In recent decades his
waning strength proved to much for the ravages of overbearing regulations.

He watched in pain as good people became ruled by self seeking lawyers. His
health rapidly deteriorated when six year old schoolboys were charged with
sexual harassment for kissing a class mate. A teen was suspended for taking
a swig of mouthwash after lunch. Then a teacher fired for reprimanding an
    unruly student.

It declined even further when schools had to get parental consent to
administer aspirin, but couldn't inform the parent when a female student was
    pregnant or wanted an abortion.

Finally Common Sense just gave up and lost the will to live as the Ten
Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, criminals
received better treatment than victims. The judges stuck their noses in
everything from little boys to professional sports.

Finally a woman who was stupid enough not to realise that coffee was hot and
didn't belong between her legs anyway. Then those same judges gave her
millions to compensate her stupidity. These are the things that caused
Common Sense to throw in the towel.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Trust & Truth, his wife
Discretion, his daughter Responsibility and his son Reason.
He is survived by his two stepbrothers, My Rights and Ima Whinger.

Not many attended his funeral, they didn't realise he had passed on.

Tad of a downer for the humour forum. Mebbe we should ask nicely for a wit forum?
