Purchase of Computer in UK, VAT claim in Ireland

    Buying a computer from UK site, can I claim the VAT paid on it through a company?
    I have a VAT number etc.

    No.
    What happens is that you have to call the UK Company and tell them your comapny number , Vat number of your Irish registered company.
    They will then issue you an invoice WITHOUT the VAT charge.

    As an Irish Vat registered company you are not liable for VAT in any other EU country (provided of courrse that the purchase is for your business).

    You wont have to pay the vat, so will not be claiming it back. Either way you dont pay vat on it.

    you can only claim back vat if the company has an office in ireland or if your buying through a business...

    You'll only have the Vat number if you are buying through a business anyway.
    The company you're buying from doesn't need an office in Ireland at all.
    They just need to be Registered in the EU.

    Spot On . Just give the company you are purchasing from your vat number and the should not charge you vat.
