In Internet Explorer? Click Tools -> Internet Options -> Clear History

what browser?
Tools - Options - or whatever and clear history. On a MAC atm so can't check a PC.

When you type in part of an address or in a text box and the menu pops up, press down to move to the offending item, and press shift-delete. It will delete those items.

You didn't mention what browser you're using. So this will only work if you're Firefox.
