yeah you'll get hit with customs duty most likely. for the sake of such a small saving, just use cdwow, play etc...

Are those prices US dollars or Aussie dollars?
USD to the Euro is 1.3200
Aud to the Euro is 1.6600.

I've ordered 2 box sets from www.devoteddvd.com.au and both took about a week to arrive, no duty payable. The 6x DVD box sets cost $20 and shipping was $19 which is approx €23. The same item was €97 on play.com.

I would also like to vouch for Devoted DVD, bought a dvd from them last week, dirt cheap, cheap shipping and it arrived 4 days later. Recommended.

Amazon.com will ship to Ireland and the international fees are reasonable. Makes sense if you have a universal dvd especially as the US prices are much cheaper than the co.uk site, irregardless of the currency conversion. i.e. LOTR EE Return King was $24

    shipping works like this
(Highest Applicable Per-Shipment Cost) + (Number of Items x Per-Item Cost) = Total Shipping Fee

CDs, DVDs, music cassettes, VHS videotapes, vinyl $4.49/$2.49
    Books $4.49/$4.49

So 2 DVDs, 1 CD, and 2 Books would be:
    $4.49 + 2x$2.49 + 1x$2.49 + 2x$4.49 = $18.45 (about 13 euro which probably is as good as amazon.co.uk)

Customs Duty is only on items which are over €45 and the items sent from CDWow are also sent from outside the EU (Japan). So these too should be charged customs on deliveries over €45.

Cdwow guarantee you no custom charges

Something to keep in mind here- is a lot of the DVDs on the Australian site are Region 4, not region 2 (which we in Europe and also Japan use).

Not a prob if you have a multiregion player- but something to keep in mind nonetheless.

If you are one of the stranger ones that only has a Region 2 machine, a lot of Region 4 are also encoded for Region 2 therefore you do not need a multiregion DVd player. Check out this site and search for the title you are interested in and see if it is dual encoded. Alternatively, you can move with the times and get the best out of DVD importation by getting your DVD player multiregioned or getting a multiregion DVD player.
