    Hi everyone ...

    I registered 3 weeks ago for an Eircom broadband connection with wireless port ... and still nothing in my mailbox...
    I call them this morning and they tell me :" we don't have anymore wireless modem ... that 's why you have not received anything yet ! ... so call back in 1 or 2 weeks maybe it will be ok !!!" :mad: :mad:
    ==>Yeahhh !!!

    Thank you so muck Eircom for making me waste my time for nothing!

    ===> So i'm gonna take a "normal modem" and not a wireless one .... :(

    I'm on the ballycoolin tower and i've nowhere near those pings! then again its the 512kb service i suppose.

    Still tho, you're not supposed to receive packet loss and average 200+ms ping to your gateway....

    Are you Breeze or Ripwave?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,449 ✭✭✭optiplexgx270

    I see yours is taking an extra hop to get to boards.ie???

    my TTL=59
    your TTL=58

    do a "tracert www.boards.ie"

  • Posts: 2,874 ✭✭✭ [Deleted User]

    Im Breeze. Ill do a tracert when I get home. Just after I posted those results I did another ping and they were quite good. Nowhere near as good as yours but they were alright. That is odd that Im taking an extra "hop".

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,449 ✭✭✭optiplexgx270

    if you use a router / switch etc that would explain it.
