    Got a powerbook, thinking of selling it to upgrade, how much is it worth?

    G4 Powerbook 12" 867mHz
    40GB hard drive
    640MB RAM
    Internal Bluetooth
    Airport Extreme card installed
    Superdrive (DVD writer & CD writer)

    Hi,
    You could take a look at the refurb prices in compub as a guide.
    They have one similar used for just over 1k http://www.compub.com/index.php?cPath=25_67_78

    not much more than 650 in my opinion. I sold the same one I had less than a year ago for 800. Look at the starting speeds for the 12" powerbooks now, almost double 867Mhz.Superdrive means nothing when you are stuck at burning at 2x for dvds. The prices ComuB quote are not the prices they pay people trading in their machines. Hope this helps.

    compub are the most expensive place for 2nd hand gear. Some of their stuff is more expensive 2nd hand than faster newer gear new! Their prices seem to have dropped since the Mac Mini was introduced.

    best way of assessing the value is to check out COMPLETED auctions on eBay for this machine. You have to be registered (free) though.
