Just got a dvd burner and im looking to burn a compilation of video files onto a dvd r. Im using Nero but when I try to add a .avi file it tells me its invalid or something.

Is it possible to make a compilation of numerous video clips like you would a VCD ? I take it I need to convert the .avi files to something ? Nero does this itself for VCDs so it seems strange that I have to do it manually for dvds.

    Advice? Cheers in advance.

You need an MPEG2 Encoder, try TempGenc - http://www.tmpgenc.net/ which will give you a trial version.

    Cheers

If you check out www.doom9.org and www.videohelp.com there are plenty of guides there on how to convert AVI to MPG.

if you have nero, then using nerovision express is the easiest way to burn avi files to DVD, however, it can take ages and I think the max i got on to a dvd was a 700mb with this program
