I can’t seem to view some web pages and some links don’t work.

I just built my new pc and everything is just about sorted but when I go to sign in on my gmail the page won’t appear, I have to press refresh but then when I sign in I get a blank page and in the bottom left of IE it says “Done” then it changes to “Done, but with errors” I’ve checked it on other pc’s and gmail works fine.

When I click on a link some times it won’t open.

I tried running windows xp game advisor and nothing even came up. I’ve turned off all firewalls to….
    Any help would be great!

You made Spybot one of your first installs, right...?

What about your cookie settings, as you know these will prevent G Mail from working, but you did say that your firewall was off, so would it be as simple as the security settings in ie are too high for some pages?

Well i have the professional edition of ad-aware...... I had spybot on my last pc but it was only a trail version! If anyone knows where to get the full version.......

I have the cookies turned to the lowest setting... I've put them back up now but when I was trying to get into gmail i turned them on the lowest setting....

Really annoying! Even when i get a link in an email on hotmail it won't open????

ok so it seems your doing all the right things anyway. Obvoiusly you have the new settings on IE sorted too, i.e the pop up blocker that it has , using control z to open a page.
spybot is great, better then adaware pro IMO, but the adwatch feature on adaware is great.
So if you have completed a clean scan using spybot
your ie security settings are ok
and you can temp disable your firewall and associated cookie control
    and your still experiencing problems.

You could try hijackthis to see if you have a browser hijack , you could also download regclear and check your start up reg files to see if something is starting up when you boot up.
If you want i can e mail these apps to you
