My STB stopped working last thursday night, it's trying to update itself, but it keeps resetting, says "your set top box was not updated correctly, please disconnect it from the mains, and try again. If this problem persists, contact NTL with the following error code:" There's 3 error codes that show up (in no particular order as far as I can tell: LDR 33, LDR 25, and ERR 24.

Anyone have a similar problem before and can anything be done about it? I rang NTL but they can't come out to me until thursday!!

funny you say that. saturday and yesterday, mine turned off and gave the same error twice. i unplugged it and left it for a minute and turned back on and it was fine. had never happened before or since.

they were sending upgrades to boxes just before the weekend. mine gave a message, something about teletext being available.

    perhpaps your upgrade is corrupted?

Have you tried just leaving it disconnected for a few mins and trying again?

By the way, the ntl update is well worth it. It makes the boxes much more stable and fixes a number of bugs which have been there for a considerable time.

Yeah, I was away for the weekend, and left it unplugged from friday morning until last night, same deal when I turned it back on. I left it plugged in when I left the house this morning. Might sort itself out over the course of the day.

The Err24 is a bit of a red herring methinks ... every time I reboot my box I get that one. The Ldr errors sound a little more serious though.

Still the same error messges over abnd over. NTL will come on thursday "after 2" so I've a half day from work to get it checked out.

Tried the STB in 2 different rooms in the house, same results. The normal cable is fine though. Very strange

Er24 means the box couldn't get the "Timestamp" (whatever that is) downloaded off the cable network and "ldr" indicates the box is entering into update mode.

Er24 doesn't really matter, or so the people at Pace told me when I contacted them...

    Hope that helps somewhat smile.gif
