    Hey Tony

That is a serious rip-off, do not pay that kind of money no matter what.

Do you need to fly into Cape Town or Johannesburg?

I normally fly into Joburg and have always paid between €500 and €650.
I normally use the following sites for the best prices:
    www.e-bookers.ie
    www.travelocity.co.uk
    www.opodo.co.uk

On Travelocity you can see the special offers if you search by price instead of date, then you can see what dates the offers run until.
I found Dublin to JHB on the 23rd March to 8th June for €705.
Play around with the dates, it makes a huge difference.
Iberia and Air France normally have good deals.

Also, look at flights from London and get a Ryanair flight from Dublin, you will have more options then.

You could always try booking a last minute flight. Slatterys were offering the same flight for €399 (!!!) the other day because it was last minute.

Yep, going via London can work out a far cheaper option. BA are excellent quality but SAA are often cheaper
