    Cute.
I can see how it could be a bit of a headwrecker if you got on the wrong track.

Incase you all think you're mad smart for getting it.. the faster you get it the stupider you are. The longer it takes the smarter you are. Fact.

Well i think Dr. Richard Duke is just covering the fact that it took him a year. Its presented as a basic pattern puzzle and if you see the pattern faster i would imagine you would be more intelligent than if you cant find it at all.... Am i the only one that would see it that way?

For the record, I have yet to figure the puzzle out. I'm generally pretty good with puzzles too. Do I attribute this to being smarter? Of course not. Like you said in your background, different people look at the world differently. This is what I find interesting about your professor's statement. On one hand, the puzzle, he says, took him a year to solve. So by saying "smarter people take longer" is a way of having a sense of humour about it (which the majority people seemed to have missed completely).
On the other hand, its as though he's challanging those people who completed it quickly. It's as if their offence to the statement is exactly what prompts it in the first place. It's very subtle (whether intentional or not) humour.

    Pretty sure she's right. :D

Got it on my second roll... what an utterly stupid game.
Once you see what the answer was, just look for a pattern that would produce that result and apply it to every roll.

    Finally....

I resent the gimp who made that game i was "very close" the whole time, with one fatal flaw ;)

If there's a dot in the center of a die, consider that a flower.... count the number of dots (petals) around that center dot.

However, if there's no dots in the center of the die, disregard all other dots in that die.

Basically: if there's a dot in the center of the die, count the dots outside it. If there's no dots, disregard the die completely!

    Understand now?

EDIT: Attached picture below for you to see it more clearly.. anyone who doesn't want to know how it works, don't open the picture!
