    Wow, they are beautiful... why are they decommissioning Hubble again? Makes no sense, that telescope rocks...

    Those pictures are just amazing.. imagine all the possible planets and lifeforms that are out there..

    I think it's mainly the age and cost to repair.
    They'll be able to make a better one which won't need so much maintainence, I just don't want to have to wait until 2012 to see it...

    Fair enough, a better one will be great, as long as Bush doesn't spew some creationist Bullsh*t and tell us that "actually, they Earth is the centre of the Universe, those pics are fake"... oh and the Earth is flat too.

    Hubble is being scrapped because it's out of date technology, there's a number of earth-bound telescopes more powerful than hubble. apparently one in Hawaii is twice as powerful.

    still sad tho...
