wtf should mark mc cabe be the hope for 2005?

didnt he release some sh!te remixes in 2000?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,314 ✭✭✭Talliesin

Is he not the guy responsible for the remix of "Maniac" (an atrocious song to begin with) who did the irritating talk-over thing?

Unless the poll was along the lines of "we need to turn off one of these life-support machines to free up the hospital bed" I'm not inclined to give him my vote.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,936 ✭✭✭fade2black

I voted for him. His new stuff is a world apart from his earlier stuff which, by the way was a perfect springboard for any dance music career. Maniac 2000 is one of the best floorfillers - and I mean that in the literal sense - of recent years regardless of its merits as a dance tune.

I voted for "The Radio" for a larf. Never heard of any of them tbh.

I did security for one of those Cidona roadshow thingies, where that tosspot appeared. I had to stand next to the left speakers as that Maniac tune, to use the word in the loosest sense possible, banged out. It was the single most depressing five minutes of my entire life, and that's saying something. I really can't find the words to describe how much I dislike that man and what he did to me, to radio, and to impressionable children across the country. May he be plagued by erectile dysfunction for the rest of his days.

For someone I presume with an education, you really are quite thick.

In case you've been stuck with your head in the sand, Maniac was five years ago and Mark has moved on a lot since then.

So what if you didnt like the record, tens of thousands obviously did.

I'm not a fan of the tune, but I have got into some of the new stuff he has been doing which is nothing like the Manaic song.

Open your mind and expand your education and get that big chip off your shoulder.

And by the way, Mark never did a Cidona roadshow, I used to book him for gigs so i'd know.

No doubt it was somebody else dressed up to look like him as was done quite a lot a few years ago.

Never judge a book by its cover and stop being a musical racist.

Your comments at the end of that post show how immature you must really be.

    END

Tens of thousands of retards, tbh.

I would have voted, but your use of the word "fanxs" has made me nauseous.

For someone who I presume has had an education, you really do have poor grammar. I suggest you work on improving that before attacking other people's intellects.

Or spent the past 5 years having a life. That particular track made it to number 1 and hence became something that one couldn't avoid unless one can avoid shopping centres, taxis and other places where one is bombarded with whatever is the current fancy of the pack-following masses. He since sunk back into the obscurity he deserves.

I mean you're all excited because he might get a lousy Meteor, FFS. There's an actual member of this community who's up for a BAFTA (you know, one of those awards people actually notice) and who's made considerably less fuss about it.

Why does he need people registering with bulletin board systems and then posting requests to vote for him?
Number of people registered on this site: 33148
Number of people who've posted about anything else, ever, (i.e. who didn't register with boards just to Spam requests to vote for him) who asked people to vote for him: 0
    Percentage give-a-sh¡t-rating: 0%

So you aren't even some naive twat of a 12-year-old fan that thinks he's helping with "viral marketing" by this; you actually have a business relationship with him which means it's not just don't-know-any-better Spamming, but cut-n-dried Spamming.
    mftfp wrote:

A musical racist? WTF is that meant to mean?
To compare having even the most rudimentary critical faculties with discriminating against people due to their ethnicity demonstrates a marked inability to make reasonable value decisions. You seriously need to evaluate how you make judgements in life. Perhaps something along the lines of Gestalt Therapy would be appropriate.

Okay. I know the guy, I used to work with him and all i'm doing is asking a favour by asking people to vote. I think the guy deserves a chance.

A musical racist is someone who refuses to allow other people to have their own taste in music.

Just because you don't like a tune, doesn't give you the right to abuse someone
    to such an extent.

    Gestalt Therapy?

"It is only possible to truly know ourselves as we exist in relation to other things".

By the tone of your original post, you exist more in this forum than you do in reality.

Hiding behind a computer is no doubt a way to make your lesser existence outside of this forum bareable.

I don't blame you, the world sucks, but say something like

"May he be plagued by erectile dysfunction for the rest of his days",

and you deserve all the **** thats shovelled your way.

You are advertising. People pay good money to advertise on this site, why the hell should you get a free ride? It was one thing when I thought you were just some 12 year old fanboy, it's another when you're an adult who should know better.
    mftfp wrote:

People here said his music was crap. That was having their own taste in music. You then attacked those people (not their taste in music), so it is you that is refusing to allow other people to have their own taste in music.

Comparing it to racism is still rather poor taste. I have noticed that it seems to be a trait for Spammers to compare their critics' views to extremist politics (generally Fascist or racist, but often Stalinist or even both at the same time), so it's not that surprising.

    Their being a Spammer does.

This forum is one I just look at when I'm busy and want some quick banter to give me a short break.

I am extremely identifiable. You on the other hand are not (though you could be tracked down easily enough if you were to do something illegal and so on). Who's hiding?
    mftfp wrote:

The world contains many wonderful and terrible things, but that's for another thread. The only thing McCabe is responsible for that I'm aware of is neither wonderful nor terrible, but merely banal.

Sarky's comments were a bit off the mark I agree. An infection of the larynx would be much more appropriate :)

Given that you appear to have registered here just to post your request, I voted for one of the other guys. I might have considered your guy but you didn't give any reasons why I should have. I wouldn't normally vote in these dumb net polls at all but your appeal helped.

just for the record I cleared my cookies out and voted for a different band on that page.

mark mccabe LOL like he deserves to win

Those musical racists are proper bastards, but they're not as bad as those albino goth's that kick my bins.
