    Anyone know where i can download this..i want to burn it onto a cd and run it from the cd...

    If you don't have broadband then check out the File Exchange board.

    Otherwise use Debian


    [edit]Did you mean not install it to your hard disk? Not sure if you can do this with Debian, Google for Knoppix[/edit]

    Knoppix..Is this the one you can run from a cd...I dont want to install it..

    knoppix is one of (quite) a few linux distros that are based on debian and run from the cd, ie you don't have to install them on your hard drive to use them. knoppix is probably the best of these "live" cds. 700mb download though!

    Ubuntu has a live CD and is based on debian. It also has quite good hardware detection (the only distribution that detected my wireless card automatically).

    which version of knoppix did you use, as the recent versions are much better with WiFi and gigabit cards.
