    How do you do it?
Is it safe and what are the risks?

    Any advise would be appreciated

It will but it will depend on the overclock done. Processors lifespan is about 10 years or something. Will you be using that processor in 10 years. Highly Doubtful. How much overclocking takes off this cant be measured but you can avoid it burning out after a week depending on your knowledge of the motherboard/processor/ram limitations and how to keep these adequately cooled.

What motherboard/processor/ram are you using. If you are not sure google for CPU-Z this will tell you exactly.
