Hi there, I have a dmp file from an oracle db that I want to view without importing it into my existing database. Is there an app out there that allows me to see it in a structured format? Basically I just want to preview the thing. I know SFA about databases thanks KR

or if the problem that you don't want the hassle of running oracle on your machine you could try the free http://www.it-map.com/html/mydbpal_.html
oracle to mysql conversion, supposedly. Mysql being a lot easier to get going than oracle.

There's the free version of toadsoft for oracle that's meant to support conversion to text.

Limited to 4000 rows, theres http://www.kiyoinc.com/nxtract.html eval version (or the commercial $2500 unlimited) which is definitely to text.
