Alopecia

I have recently developed a small bald patch on the upper part of my neck just under my chin. No hair at all grows there. It's nothing major at the moment I would just like to have it looked at.

I know it's a form of alopecia, can anybody recommend any course of action or any specialists to see regarding this?

    Its often stress related/induced.
It appears to be another of the autoimmune diseases.
There doesn't appear to be a solution to it.
If its causing you problems and you're worried about it- see your local GP.
It is possible to treat it medicinally- with corticosteroids, which may be rather extreme.

Google alopecia- you will come up with a lot of useful online resources that will enlighten you better.

    Heres one for starters:

It's most definitely not stress related. It happened very soon after I returned from holidays in the summer so I suspect that a portion of the skin was damaged by the sun and has not healed properly since.

Thanks for the links, I've looked it up on web, can't find a lot about my exact problem, most of them are far more severe forms of alopecia with quite severe treatments.

I was really looking to see if anybody could recommend a good specialist/dermatogist with experience in this area to have it checked out.

I had an alopecia spot on the top of my head a few years ago and went to my local doctor. He simply got some "stuff" and injected it into the scalp and within a few weeks it was fine. Can't for the life of me remember what it was he injected into me. You should just ask your GP and I'm sure he/she'll be able to recomment something without the hassle of trying to see a specialist.
