RAM - need some help

    tryed playing ST:Armada(not a demanding game) just now... tryed loading up a save and got the message "Out of memory - Increase swap file size" Swap file is virtual memory i determined(right?) so i tried increasing the size from 1 1/2 times to double the mem. this didnt work, got the same message. my pc (running xp) has 512mb RAM, which i thought was more than enough for a game made for win98. this hasnt happened before or for any other games so im real confused, have i run out of RAM, hardly...? any way of freeing up space? is this specific to my game or pc? id really appreciate some help on this

    How many processes are running on boot. What is the total ram used at boot and what processes are using the most ram?

    512Mb is plenty for running xp. Very strange problem.

    Your C: has initial size 768Mb and maximum size 1536Mb?

    Armada isn't xp compliant and It wont run in compatibility mode either. Check the back of the box. I picked it up for buttons ages ago and couldn't get it going either, can't remem if that was the error was though.

    15 processes are running on boot, the biggest being bullguard at around 13,000k, in total ther is about 39mb in use. yep my initial size is 768 and max is 1536. my hard disk has plenty free with about 50g free out of 80. never had compliency problems before with original armada or this one - no probs running the game, only when i try to load saves... heh, this has got me real confused
