Guards, but i've taken a bit of a dislike to the witches in recent years so I'm probably biased.

Definitely Guards, then again i'd consider the guards books to be the best of the discworld series.

guards are far better. Best books are the ones featuring them. I disliked Equal Rites. Witches are a bit annoying.
