I was fixing a botched system restore on a friends PC, and after spending ages trying to actually get the CD drive working under DOS (his boot disk was actually just full of porn somehow), i reinstalled ME but when it went to start windows for the first time, it started repeatedly displaying a message saying something along the lines of (tried updating file segment %1 of %2). It was a week ago, so i cant remember what the error exactly was, but it was longer than the one mentioned above.

Ive tried microsoft.com, but to no avail. Anyone remember anything like that for ME? I don't want to have to format.
