    pano photo
TNO has produced the largest digital panoramic photo in the world. So, what do we mean by large? After all, modern consumer cameras can easily take a picture with 5 million pixels. Well, we are talking about a photo of completely different dimensions. One with 2.5 billion pixels - that's 500 times more pixels. If this photo were printed, it would measure 6.67 m by 2.67 m (300 dpi). The photograph shows Delft and its surroundings in the autumn of 2004. It was taken from the top of the Electrical Engineering faculty of Delft University, at a height of about 100 m, by TNO.

pretty impressive, you can zoom in to a level that makes wally very hard to find indeed!

I think this has been posted before. Interesting though. Just a load of other pictures stiched together so it's not really 2.5 billion pixels

seen better to be honest... There's a satellite photo of New York sometime after 11/09/01 that's really breathtaking. Load it up in Photoshop at 'Fit on screen' pixels and you think 'wow, thats pretty neat!', then you zoom in - and in - and in. At 100% you can make out people on the street and read signs on buildings.

Wish I had a link, but I got it from a friend (who got it from one of the unlinkable places I think).

Yeah it's along the same lines as a homemade panoramic picture but a lot more complex.
