    Hi all, Just like to ask does anyone know of any decent and reliable short wave frequncies for the BBC World Service in Ireland? I'm in North Kerry. Thanks.

    The BBC have started to reduce their short wave transmissions over the last couple years. The alternatives are to receive it online which is excellent if you've broadband (good over diallup as well since it's only about a 30Kb stream but it could cost a fortune), or to use a satellite radio (maybe one of the one's here http://www.ogormans.co.uk/worldspa.htm). If you've Sky all the BBC channels radio and tv are freely available, you can even get them on an unsubscribed box.
    Cable's not too like likely in north kerry I suppose but if it is both Chorus and as far as I know NTL both broadcase a selection of radio stations unencrypted including world service on their analog systems.

    Probably already know this, but you can hear it on 198LW after Radio 4's closedown. Not good for most of the day though...
