So, I *finally* found a place that was still selling Vox AC30 TB's!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the situation, it's something like this: Korg bought Vox and very recently moved their manufacturing over to China (or else outsourced it to China). Consequently, the short-lived AC30 TB model is now not being made anymore and therefore very difficult to get hold of. The replacement that is to arrive from China around May is to be labelled the AC30 CC. It's difficult to say whether it'll be as good, but I know a lot of people are sceptical about them...

Anyhoo, I placed the order with http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk - I tracked my order for a few days and noticed nothing seemed to be happening. I phoned them up and after a quick check, they embarrassingly informed me that there was a mix-up and that they don't actually have any AC30's left (the money had already been taken off my card at this point). However, the guy I was dealing with, Jason, said to leave it with him for a week and he'd see if he could locate one.

To make a long story short, he found an AC30 TBX (next model up with better speakers - about STG £230 more expensive) demonstration model. Now, Vox aren't too keen on selling demo models cos they want to ensure everything that ends up in the consumer's hands is in perfect nick. They said that they'd take the TBX back to their engineers, thoroughly inspect it, rewire it by hand and then let Dolphin Music sell it to me.

And the best best BEST part is I got a phone call this morning (keeping in mind it was a Monday morning) telling me that because I was so patient and understanding with the mix-up (!), they're going to give it to me for the same price as the TB.

It'll be here on Thursday! :D

Just thought I'd share that with all y'all. I could be wrong, but I don't picture myself getting the same service from places here. Maybe they could be added to the resources sticky?

    -S

Wow! Are you sure they are going to hand wire it? That'd mean removing all the PCB stuff and doing it like the limited edition Hand wired AC30s. You got very lucky anyway with the Alnico Blues though.
