I am looking for some footwear for training. The ideal type would be flat soled...no grooves that could damage the canvas and get me in trouble. I'm also looking for a pair of kneepads. Where would be a good place to buy some and what price would they be? Thanks in advance

    Hey Syd,

For Kneepads Elvery's would probably be your best bet, a rugby pair would do. Otherwise you're talking about ordering from a US wrestling site, which can really kill you with p+p.

What type of training do you do? Boxing, Wrestling, TKD or some other TMA? Knowing where you're training at will probably help people on this board help you select the right footwear.

    Peace Out,
    Colm

I do TKD and tran in white slip on runners/trainers. I bought em in Heaton's for just €18. They come in all sizes too.

    Syd,

You're best off getting a good pair of wrestling boots, rather than buy a cheap pair which you'll have to replace every year.

I think there's a place on North Earl Street that sells them. I'll ask around and get back to you.

Other than that, go to www.themat.com (USA wrestling's homepage) and have a look round for merchandise.

    Peace and Love Y'All,
    Colm
