    Need some help folks....

My burning speeds with nero have gone up from a normal twenty mins or so (when burning an iso dvd image) to over an hour..

My settings are still the same as before ... havent changed my media , havent fecked up any settings.

I'm using the latest version of nero (legal copy) .... tried downloading the updates to see if this would fix the problem but no joy. I uninstalled it and reinstalled but still no differene!

And the only hardware change I've made recently was to install a wireless usb card, which i tried removing ...but still no change.

    Any suggestions??

Running WInxp pro with service pack 2

Chalk had a similar problem here. He had also installed a wireless card recently. Maybe you could ask him if he resolved it?

    i never did.
i took it of the pc and got an external caddy for it to use on my laptop.

Dont suppose you are both using the same wireless adapter? Could be a driver conflict (check the manufacturers website for updated drivers/firmware and check their forums for similar problems). Possibly could be down to clashing interrupts or something like that.

The only other thing i can think of is the PIO mode thing i mentioned before - generally the only thing i have come across before that slows down a burner yet still leaves it working.

im not sure what pio mode is.
dma was on , no setting s have changed.

the wireless card i installed was pci and about 4-5 years old.
im using the only driver avialble for it as the one shipped doesnt work with xp
its probably something to do with service pack 2 if you ask me.

    feck it!!!

My wireless card is a 3com.. but i dont think thats problem as I'm nearly sure it started happening before i installed it

    Yeah....service pack 2 could be responsible....hmmm
