For those not already in the know, here's a nice site: www.tinyurl.com where you can enter a looong URL and get a nice short one back, which you can use forevermore to refer to the longer one. I use it a lot, and it's real handy.

It's pretty cool. There are a few out there. There's also http://url.ie

Which is less likely to be abused by MLM types etc :)

Mmm, I've been using url.ie for few weeks now, it's highly underused, I truncated three urls over three days and each of them was just an incremented version of the previous; (nobody else had used it for the three days).

I think they haven't officially launched it yet, which is probably why only a few of us are using it

I use url.ie aswell. Its dead handy, i have a quicklink in my bookmarks, and whatever page is opened when i click the url.ie link automatically gets processed and i get my shortened URL instantly.

Tis fantastic. www.url.ie/1g is one of mine :p

Shrimp: www.pro.ie isn't a web address truncation service, your link seems to be a hosting provider.

I'd never come across it before, and I seem to be on the net 24/7. :p
