Yes, yes indeed, I think you'll find that that's the Imaginary Emporium, on the corner of Fake Street and Made-up Road, where they serve surreal ale and all of the bar staff are half-naked models.

Why yes, 24 drunk people turning up at the door at close to one........And it'll be a quiet relaxed emporium, were men gather to sniff brandy and discuss the issues of the day while a string quartet plays soothing Chopin.

Um, I know this place, it's Isodle's tower.

thanks for the suggestion, mycroft I actually viewed your post in the hope of a reasoned response it might have to be isoldes tower...

The very fact that this is such a prepostorous idea is the number one reason why we should all just move to another country - one where you can just go for a drink with your mates and not have to put up with all that crap from bouncers & bar owners.

Such places do exist you know.

Look frankly if I lived in country where 24 people could find a quiet empty place for a drink at half twelve I'd be bored........

Try Amsterdam - not the most boring city on Earth by any stretch of the imaginiation. They've just got a lot more bars - even quiet streets in the suburbs will have one or two little bars. And if you want lively, that's not too hard to find.

Handels is a nice place - comfy chairs, perfect snakebite, and they make the best burgers in Dublin!
