What is the kilometre equivalent of the question "What is the mileage on your car?"

I've asked a few people and as far as I know, there's no word for it!!

It's like the switch over the the euro. We were thinking "will penny sweets now be called cent sweets" or "Will the pound-shop now be called the euro shop" It'll probably be the same question, only you'll give ur answer in kilometers

Just use "mileage" and if people start getting confussed and bedubbled, it's their problem. We don't have a problem with anyone asking someone what their weight is (though getting an answer might be where the problem lies) even though that's incorrect as unlike mass it's gravity-dependent. Or with people referring to the A4 pad as a foolscap when it's nothing of the sort.

Actually for some nutty reason the word used instead of "mileage" in lots of other countries is "kilometres". So people actually say things like "what kilometres does it have?" and people understand them. Sounds daft I know
