At least TV3 chose a different match to ITV1 this time.

    Normal Video :

    Tuesday : Liverpool Bayern
Wednesday:Why is there only one match on terrestial, guess I won't get to see Porto Inter either :(

    Sky Video:
    Tuesday: Real Juve
    Wednesday:Barcelona -VS- Chelsea

    Watch:

Think I'll just be flicking through every match on the Tuesday, definitely watching Barca-Chelsea on Wed though.

TV3 get a live match on Tuesdays and RTÉ on Wednesdays. ITV can only show two live matches on Tuesdays (none on Wednesdays). Sky get whatever ITV don't choose on Tuesdays and can show everything on Wednesdays.

Do ITV have CL rights next year too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,746 ✭✭✭Drag00n79

Yes, the current TV deals runs until the Final in 2006. The next three year deal will run from 2006/07 to 2008/09. I reckon, the BBC will get a slice of that cake.

Champions League TV rights bids due
    Apr 08, 2005 10:33 AM
Bids for the 2006-2009 Champions League coverage are due to be put in by broadcasters today.
ITV and BSkyB are the favourites to retain their shared live coverage of Champions League football matches, however the BBC are considering to make a bid.

The BBC faces an added complication in satisfying Uefa that it could reconcile its own rules banning sponsorship with the Champions League's demands for on-screen promotion.

There are three packages in offering; one package offers the pick of matches played on a Tuesday, another offering first pick of Wednesday games, and a third offering the remainder of the games not chosen by the main broadcasters.

Industry insiders do not rule out BSkyB tabling a knockout bid for all Champions League rights, saying it would then be up to Uefa to decide whether it wanted to accept an exclusive deal with the pay-TV broadcaster, or maintain the current two-way split for UK TV rights.
