The official website of the SG1 game has been fully opened now and can be found at:

    http://www.stargate-thealliance.com/main.php?lang=en

It's looking pretty good at the moment, the screenshots look incredible although it could only be concept art. There's also a pretty good FAQ on it. Including:
Question: Any chance to see the furlings?
    Answer: No comment.

(Mods: if this belongs in the games forum please move it)

Were they planning to sell the mod or make it available for free? 'Coz if it was free then MGM are being right tossers. They already incurred people's wrath when they shut down the fansite sg1-archive.com. I know using unlicensed images is against the law, etc. but what harm would it have done except expose more people to the franchise at no cost to MGM? Or were they afraid it's detract from Stargate: Alliance?

The mod looked Fantastic!!!! The team who were developing it were doing on there own free time. They were giving a job to anyone who had any sort off expertise in areas that they could utilise. No one got paid for doing it and the mod was completely free.

The graphics and design were amazing. They had some screen shoots of a death glider, Jaffa and the gate. They even had a video of transport rings in use and it looked great. The alpha version was about 90% complete and they were hoping for a release some time during the summer. Really disappointed because I actually bought far cry in preparation of the mod.

I honestly think the mod would have been better than stargate the alliance. Jowood aren't the best when it comes to games. I think there using they are using their own engine for the game which will probably be a bad thing. If anyone has played Far Cry you know how good the cry tech engine is. I think MGM and Jowood are afraid of that.

I hope I’m wrong and the game is great cos i do intend on buying it when it comes out around Christmas this year but after following the Mod for the past six months its kinda P**SING me off. Stupid MGM!!!!

Sadly, this is what often happens when you don't ask a studio for permission before making a mod. They probably would have beek ok if it hadn't been for the impending official release. Alas, bad timing, and that is a LOT of work down the drain, I'd say.

I'd give it a year before they bring that out as a full game. MGM will not throw away all that work for nothing..............they'd be morons. Licence the game, pay the developers(modders) and rake the cash.

Crap, I acutually bought a replacement copy for my broken Far Cry specifically so I could play that mod when it was released.

That was probably the problem right there.
