So besides the usual freeroll what is else is going on in the Fitz tonight? I've a hankering for some live action play and wouldn't mind heading in, no particular desire to play the freeroll though. Is the Holdem only cash game still running on Thursday nights?

I'm up for some NLH-Only cash action. We normally get a great game from the players here... anyone up for it? I'll be drunk if that helps... (helps you, obviously, its unlikely to help me much, apart from you know, being drunk n'all, which wil be nice.)

Was speaking to Hectorjelly on VC last night and he said he'd probably be along too. So that makes 3 of us anyway........
What time does the HL only game usually kick off at?
The later it is the drunker i'll be too :)

I am contemplating a cash game visit tonight myself. There is a big party on there tonight to celebrate the Year of the Rooster, Karaoke, grub, dancing and plenty of Jap-Sai no doubt, I think its kicking off late enough as well, around 1.

Aye, 1am there will be a Dragon Dance through the club I believe. I was also forewarned that Sharon may be coaxed into performing her world famous Chinese Fan Dance. Fabulous.

The club opens at 6 for the satellites AFAIK- I can't imagine there being too many people there until about 7 so I would aim for that if I were you.

    Dear God...........

I know you had aces and were ahead and all that but 1500 pre-flop on a hand of omaha???!!!

and how on earth did he call that with just jacks?

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

JJ78 double suited isnt a bad hand! Its a good hand to crack bare aces with too. That might be what he was hoping you had. Considering that you have a far better hand then bare aces thats a pretty foul beat. What level were you playing at to get it all in preflop for 1500!?

Im not just ahead, Im miles ahead. I actually put him on AA as well but mine were double suited which meant a huge edge for me. Im only a couple of %'s off AA vs KK

They say, in a cash game, you make money every time you get your money in the pot as favourite(well Theoretical money according to Sklansky).

but try buying chicken baguette meal with theoretical money...
Gotta be big swings playing that game.

Against a bare AA hes about a 60 40 dog, it was $2 $4 and there were several players involved preflop. It went limp, min raise, pot raise, I reraise on button, fold, fold, re re raise I go all in he calls.

When youre up against aces the last thing you want in your hand is a pair, Ive been playing the 5c10c PLO on VC shouldnt be too long before I make enough out of that to take hector on

Those 5c/10c seem to be a boards enclave these days, there's bohsman, me, dappergent, henbane, karlh, kencleary occasionally fills the chat screen with "I really don't know what I'm doing...", Big Dragon plays too, probably more.

One thing I've noticed about the micro limits that there's rarely more than a min raise preflop, and if there is then its always AAxx, so you can judge if you hand is the type to crack AAxx.

I can occasionally be found playing 5c/10c HiLo and i'm 100% sure I ain't got a clue what i'm doing.

Good game last night! even if the Dragon got a bit much after a while. Thats the last time im playing on a work night though. Made it home for only 2 hours sleep before having to get up and back into Dublin, was hardly worth my while leaving!

Few memorable hands really though. I pulled my usual routine of playing a few hands well to build myself up a bit before doing something stupid on one hand and losing all the gains. Still enjoyed myself and i think ill head back some Friday night for a bit more cash game fun.

Bad Cards + Not Hitting Flop = Raped (cash wise).

The holdem only is really too much hard work, although it was a nice crowd at the table. I'd say I took out three pots all night and two of them were bluffs. Def will be playing the holdem/omaha next time out.

Man o man, Oscar must have dealt me A3o about 8 times!! I sat down with 75 and regretted it very quickly as I gave myself no room to breathe.

Memorable hand? I only played around 5. I suppose the only one is one I put down to your bet Ken, I was out of position and looked down and saw KJo, it was looking like a limpers pot when you fired out.

I immediately put you on AK and put it down, I was biting my lip when I saw you show QQ on the K high flop and the amount you led out with.

But again my stack size let me down and I couldn't afford to be making calls like that with KJ as the flop was going to be expensive to play and with K high i had to worry about my kicker.

That hand with AQ was rough, very good player that Vietnamese guy.

That lad who dropped what, 400-500 bills? Is he a regular? :D

There was one hand with him that was hilarious.

I was sick of seeing so many crap cards that I limped in with K2s (a monster) flop came K42 two clubs, he bets 10 I call, turn is a blank, I check, he checks river is a 2, I think for ages and spot him checking out of turn and so say to him, well in that case 25...... I COULD NOT BELIEVE HE CALLED and showed Q4o

Ended up in the 25-game when my seat was given away due to confusion and misunderstanding. What a fookin' traversty that turned out to be! :)

Here's an example hand. I get AAT3 double suited and I flat call UTG. its called around to the button who raises €4.5 euro. Thats called back to me and I make it €22 all in. THATS called all in by almost everyone back to the button who calls as do the blinds. Everyone (afaicr) at the table is now all in for varying amounts! Poor aul Oscar had to handle about 6 different pots (and credit where its due, he was spot on with them, I think my brain might have imploded there were so many different winners of different pots!).

The button showed Aces, one suited but won some cash when he tripped up on a 7 in his hand! Some other bloke fluked a heart flush (the only flush not covered by the aces hands!)

It was great to see the Chinese New Year celebrations last night. Wonderful to see another culture being celebrated in Ireland by both Chinese and Irish patrons.

This comment is not aimed at anyone I promise.

Good to put a face to a name Samba. I was the bald fellow you took some cash off with those AA. I knew i was in trouble then you called my bet on a 10 high flop. I had A10 by the way.

that guy was priceless. He won the first four hands and was up nicely but must have played 90% of hands. I got pissed off and went all in for about 45 on a gutshot and he called. I hit nothing and declared A high. He looked at his cards and iirc showed 35s for nothing. He had called my bet with nothing except a runner runner flush draw  Unfortunately i couldn't get any cards to get involved with him.

Ahh, dito. I was not happy with the amount of callers I got on that hand and was even more unhappy with the max bet, I was fearful of a two pair or trips but when you checked the turn I was fairly sure they were still good.

I considered pushing all in but wanted to see how things panned out, would you have folded had I done so?

I was dying to get some cards to play against that guy but just couldn't ,frustrating. The first hand he took down against the guy with the glasses was hilarious. He went to fold and come the flop he is raising bets....hmmm I wonder what he could have.... it was so obvious he hit a two pair.

It was a good night, nice atmosphere at the table

First hand in the HE only cash game, I'm sitting with €100.
Limp UTG with 88. Raised to €5 or €7 or something by a LP player, I call and just the 2 of us to the flop.
Flop: A 8 4, with A and 4 of diamonds. I check raise to get all the cash in the middle on the flop, on their backs, trip 8's for me, AJo for him, running diamonds on turn and river give him the flush with the Jd in his hand. Down €100 in the first hand.

2nd hand of the night, no not 2nd hand of note, but the actual 2nd hand dealt at the table since I've sat down. I have J9o in the BB. Folded around to the button who calls. SB completes, I check. Flop is Q 10 8. I check my cards. I look at flop. I check my cards again. Scratch head. Bet pot. Raised by button. Reraise. All-in.
I have nut straight, he has AA. Nut straight holds up and I've made my buy-ins back. And I'm only a step closer to a coronary.

The rest of the night I was fed money by drunks with deep wallets, plenty of chinese food, and I left at 6.30am up to the tune of €250 ish. My sleeping patterns are fúcked.
