    so, I have some questions....

why is it when I am away from my radio it has a lot of static interuption but when I touch it it goes clear...
I cant adjust it cuz it only sounds clear when I touch it.

Also, why does my hair have so much static electricity?
it is hard to control...its like I have my hand on one of the balls that makes your hair stand up.

    thanks ;)

Yeah that p1sses me off when the reception on the telly changes due to where you're sitting. My guess is that ur body can draw the signal away from the arial or somthin. (I don't really know what i'm talking about)

To get the best signal a radio needs an aerial of a certain size related to the wavelength and either a second aerial equal and opposite or good ground connection. Touching metal parts of the radio would make you one of these. If you were not touching the radio you may be blocking an intefereing signal or concentrating the signal by acting as a reflector.

If you are listening to FM 88MHz to 108MHz then the wavelength is 3m
    ( 300,000,000 m per s / 100MHz )
A quarter wavelength is 75cm, 1/2 and 5/8ths of a wave length are also dimensions of a human or resonant aerial.

Does the radio just have one telescopic aerial ?

If you are listening to AM, ( LW MW SW ) then ratating the radio left and right can help.

Static electricity is what crackles on the front of a TV or when you take off a wollen jumper. so it's normal, are you living somewhere dry, maybe the dehumidifier is usetting the radio ? You can get anti static spray but I don't know if it comes in hairspray.

You could try some anti-static headgear but it might affect the radio :Dhttp://zapatopi.net/afdb.html

Probably because you have lots of it, so more static is created.
Also I think because its curly it has more of an effect (based 0% on fact)

Some shoes cause more of a build up of charge when they rub against the carpet.

well actually I dont get static in my hair when its curly, only after I have ironed it straight, everytime.
you think it has something to do with the heat applied when ironing it?

no its the friction of rubbing the iron on the hair that causes it
