Hotbird on 60cm Sky dish and Lidl FTA digital receiver in Cork area?

A friend wants to use a disused 60cm Skydigital dish to receive Hotbird with a Lidl FTA digital receiver - this in the Cork area - How would this 60cm dish be expected to perform? (also considering cloud/rain attenuation and signal strength differences between multiplexes)

There could be visual objections if a larger dish was used - hence considering the 60cm dish

    thanks
(apologies if this question that has been answered here before!)

If I remember rightly 70cm is the minimum recommended for hotbird so dont be suprised if some channels are missing or break up on a wet day

Although if you have a good sensetive LNB and reciever and good quality cable you might get away with it
    Lidl FTA digital receiver
maybe not the most sensetive on the market though

I'd say all you could but try. Maybe pick a fine day no clouds and take it from there!!!
Tell us how you get on!!!
If visual objections are a problem and he/she really wants Hotbird and you can't get it on a $ky dish I'd say try a Triax dish!!! they are great!!!
