Just before I start I'd like to say

    <--- 1000 posts w00t

The Darwinia Demo is out and I'm gonna give it a going over right now.

Nearly three years after taking the underground gaming scene by storm with Uplink, Introversion Software is poised to release its follow-up title, Darwinia. Combining fast paced action with strategic battle planning, the game features a novel and intuitive control mechanism, a graphical style ripped from 80's retro classics, and a story concerning a tribe of video game sprites trapped in a modern 3d game world.

Its a bit easy but then again its only a tutorial.

The interface is easy to use and the idea is great.

The demo isnt warming me to the game though, as it is a bit of a tech demo, although I did enjoy it.

Introversion usually add features with patches so I think I will still get the full game when it comes out anyway.

I got the demo on PCG coverdisc today, just seeing if any other Board-heads had it and liked it.

The demo itself (not the one on PCG, incidentally, that's pants, v1.1 with the tutorial is the proper one to get) doesn't exactly sing the praises of the game. A mix of Lemmings, Syndicate and God knows what else, I found it fairly routine: nice idea, but it'll never catch on.

I'll might still buy the full version as I'm getting bored with my FPS phase (CoD, MoH, HL2) and need something requiring a little more brain power, but I doubt it'll get much more than a couple hours gameplay.

Those spiders are impossible to kill, tho' :D

(PCG loved it by the way, 90%)
