I know this has been asked before - but what do you think of ebay? I am looking for those LiveWrong Wristbands things and it seems to be the only place to get them. Is EBay safe? In order to bid on something you have to register and when you register you have to give your credit card details - don't really like the thought of just giving them my credit details - even if I don't buy something! Seems odd doesn't it?

You don't have to give your credit card details if you register OR if you want to bid, only when you register for PayPal, the standard eBay way of paying with your credit card. Most sellers, especially UK, will accept cheques or bank transfers as payment. In fact, some will only accept these forms of payment for more expensive items.

You don't have to give your CC details, just sign up with an Eircom e-mail address instead of yahoo/hotmail/etc

It's great, quick and safe as long as you are aware of what things to check. Ie someone's rating, what the feedback is for (buying/selling), read the description carefully. It's very very handy and a great place to pick some things up really cheap.

I wouldnt buy those LiveWrong Wristbands on there... people are just selling them on there to make a quick buck... not for good causes.
