ESB Shops

Was looking at TV's over the weekend and noticed that
ESB shops are now as cheap as the likes of DID, Power City etc.
Their prices (for the items I checked) are the same as the "big boys".
That certainly makes a change from a couple of years ago.
Is this because you can't add it onto your ESB bill any more
    (at an outrageous APR!)?

As far as I know there are 2 different bills now.
One for the electricity and a seperate one for the goods but it is with a seperate finance company.
