New Graphics Card

looking for a good graphics card. i would prefer an Nvidia, but an Ati would also be good.

either of these any good, or can you recommend another one. my budget is around €400.

€400,- i think i'd get something along the lines of Radeo X850 Pro Vivo or nvidia 6800gt .
I'm not to sure what a good card is round that kind of money but its a start i guess.
I do know that 6600gt i have in sli beats a 6800gt, but then 2 of them is even better again, you'll need a sli compatible board thou.

i would agree with baby eater, anything around the 300 euro price point and i'd be looking at the X800XL

a quick look at benchmarks shows this up

it beats the x850 pro as even though it has lower clocks it has 16pipelines

and as mentioned it goes up against the 6800GT and its significantly cheaper, unless your looking at sli as an option i don't think i'd go with a 6800GT atm, for about 50quid more you can get a X850 XT PE with vivo and dual dvi which apart from doom 3 where it has slightly lower performance than the 6800GT, its all over it in everything else

Would have to agree - impressive card for the price.Really thought it would effect the prices of the x800pro and the 6800gt more, as thats the main rivals

Just ordered one of them with a DFI lanparty and a A64 3000 so hopefully they arrive on time.
