Did anybody see the Panorama doc last night on BBC1?? it was about a town in the uk (think it was Swindon) where this particular judge noticed the same offenders in his court time and time again. Three in particular had been in trouble since their early teens and were now in their late 20's, early 30's. Anyway it turned out that these three and tons of others had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by this guy who lived in the town (he was a millionaire who owned a load of discount shops) who used to employ some of the lads to help him in his shop and to do delieveries. Him and a couple of other guys used to pass the kids around each other... it took over 30 years for the guy to be prosecuted and he could be out in 6 years..

Panorama got evidence of where the other peodophiles lived (one was in France) but the police had never followed the cases up. One of the three fellas who had been abused as a kikd who was constantly in trouble with the police was in bits.. .he was on all sorts of tablets and was all over the place. He found (with the help of Panorama) files on him which showed that the social workers and his own mother knew what was going on. It was a pretty shocking documentary.

Are you even allowed employ young teenagers in the UK, especially ones so naive that they wouldn't realise when they were being passed around a paedophile ring.
Didn't see the documentary, but it sounds rather bizarre.

sorry one thing i forgot to mention was that the program also was examining wheter these repeat offenders would have started down the road of crime if they hadnt have been abused and if social services/family/police had done something sooner. Most of the guys who were up in court constantly hadnt any criminal record before the abuse started... Also because the main peodophile was a multi millionaire the whole issue of compensation to his victims was discussed. However because a lot of his victims where in jail or had been in jair for crimes, (a lot of which seemed to be violent ones) they were not entitiled to compensation.
