Just to remind ye all that the pilot will be shown after the Superbowl tonight in the US.

But the actual series will not continue until May. Which means we'll have the pilot tonight.. and no more episodes for 3 months. Bit of a strange scheduling decision for Fox there... but then again, i'm sure ratings for it after the Superbowl will be massive!

After seeing the 6 minute pilot, i was very apprehensive! Very few giggles but after watching these 3 preview clips for the upcoming pilot episode, i'm starting to warm to it.

    3 Preview Clips Here

Clip: 'Terror Alert Orange' was already in that pilot released a couple of months back but the other two clips are actually quite funny!

Thought the episode was pretty funny, but definantly not on a par with FG, yet anyways.

Critics (and audiences) in the States seemed to hate it judging by Ain't It Cool News reports

The pilot of a series can always be shakey.. i just don't think Fox should make the public wait 3 months before a follow up.

Heh, still a long way to go to beat the record by RTE and Killinaskully!

I'm not enthused the clips. The mall one was pure FG alright, but in the first one especially the dialogue was just horrible...

I thought it was great and had some classic moments - like where the Iraqi tells his wife to go put on some clothes. I'm not particularly warming to the father character yet but I think the alien character is great, i'd say they're going to borrow a hell of a load of stories from Alf to develop that character. The rest of the family is pretty sitcom standard(even though they come out with mad out of place lines every now and then) with the bizzare exception of the fish. The show has lots of potential and was probably better than the family guy pilot.

If it doesn't go down well with American audiences then I believe it might actually turn out to be as good as family guy :D

It did have some great moments in there alright such as:
    - President Bush recieving a job from God about downplaying their relationship in public addresses
    - The dog ("Oh no! He's about to pee...... nope, dust!")
    - The new policy to stop people hugging, kissing, holding hands around the school. (the teacher buttoning up his shirt in front of the frog saying "It's too risky right now.. i'll come back tonight!")

I liked it, for a pilot its pretty good, it has potential.
The main problem i have is that francine is not a patch on lois.
shes more of a non character..
and shes not half as hot :(
