ipod linux

    anybody seen this yet?

    they have software that will install linux on your ipod
    <3g though! It plays OGG and WMA though.

    yea, I've been using iPl (iPod linux) on my 3g ipod for bout 6 months... Did a small bit of development on podzilla (the GUI) aswell (well, only the scrollbar, which hasn't really... made it, yet)...
    The IRC channel (#ipodlinux on irc.freenode.net) is great for info too.
    It does not play oggs or wmas, yet (probably never for wmas, Windows Media Audio)... You probably got that info from the infamous (seriously) slashdot.
    They're working on 4G + mini support, [ www.ipodlinux.org/4g and www.ipodlinux.org/blog ]
    Made loads of progress at it over the last few days.
    I broke (accidentaly) my 3g ipod a while ago, but will probably be getting a 4g one soon, so I can help out getting iPl working on it or something.

    umm... ya can do much more than "ping localhost" on iPl... believe me...
    view images, possibly videos on the photo, when its done... and much more...
