no point, u were happy at the time. air fares have no fixed pricing, its one of the few business that get away with it. dont worry about it, u still got a great deal.

I've made that trip a few times and the ticket prices always fluctuate a great deal. You did get them particularly cheap anyways.

I got return flights to Boston for €360 in 2003. The following year it cost me €620. Was really pissed off with that but the prices are back down again.

Same happened me with Sleasyjet, but surprisingly I got the difference back,
in credit, which has to be used against Sleasyjet flights within 6 months.

lomb's right. Airlines don't guarantee prices, even if you've already made a booking the price is always subject to change. Their obligation to the customer is to offer the best price available at the time of purchase - not afterwards.
This is not always the airlines fault though. It could be that this price range was fully booked when you made the reservation and since then there have been some cancellations. Usually in such cases the agent wont tell you the fare exists because it's not available on the day you want to travel.
Then again they could have a new promotion out.
It's possible they refund the difference or give you credit but it will be out of sheer good heartedness (is that a word ?) because they don't have to
    G'luck anyways

With the new, improved Aer Lingus I highly doubt it..

You are wasting your time calling AerLingus ... worst call service I have ever experienced ( even worse than insurance companies ). I was over a week getting to talk to them ..... after selecting 4 options was then on hold for 30 to 40 minutes every time. When I finally got somebody I was told "the system is down, call back in 30 minutes " ... doh ! ... I've being holding for 30 minutes already ! ..... this happend 3 or 4 times. I emailed them ... no response ... finally got talking to somebody after 9 days.

Not that surprising really - easyjet have a price promise (or similar) which states that they'll give you credit if your flights become cheaper. But then they probably say that in the knowledge that they willl have lower prices very rarely.

But is it reasonable to expect reductions after things have been paid for ? If it was we'd all be spending our days going back to the shops looking for credit...

they change almost on an hourly basis, i went to NY before Xmas with Aer Lingus for €292 return, we did want to go for new year and checked the flights for specific dates around that time and we had them for €292 but didn't book it at the time, we checked later that evening and it had gone up loads so eventually we found some dates at the start of dec that gave us the really low price, **** happens
