Is there a huge difference running res 1600*1200 against 1280*1024 for general use and in games? Was thinking upgrading to Dell's 2001FP or 2005FPW but there are some 19" that are really good as well. Any comments are welcome :)

Not so much in games but in general use I would say yes but that might just be a person thing.

I would say the opposite, for me extra res is always welcomed in gaming, but I always use 1024x768 for desktop etc, anything else makes things seems too small.

1600x1200 is obviously going to own your hardware in games though. Well...... maybe not... Just looked at your sig ;) I think 1600x1200 is sex on legs for games, wish I had a screen that could take it.

For general use, 1600x1200 is much bigger than 1280x1024 and if youre an avid multitasker like me you'll definately appreciate it. I had the pleasure of 2x17" TFTs for a week before though and that ruled aswell, 2560x1024 *drools*.

I'd say it comes down to whether you prefer games or desktop use and whether real estate is a problem. If I could upgrade my screen I'd rather have 2x17" but have no room for them.

Hmmm... this post wasnt really in the least bit helpful was it?

I wouldnt be able to use 2 screen as one. The middle part would just annoy me :D
I'll probably pick up the Dell 2005FPW as they are on discount now and can save like 200E.
