Posting on behalf of my mother, she has had what we think is trapped wind for the last number of days which is causing her discomfort and pain. She has tried various products on the market which are suppose to cure this but have been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know a way to help or anything that we could get to help her.

    Thanks in advance.

Senokot (sp?) tablets, or simple Andrews salts and wait about an hour.

She went yesterday and they gave her tablets called Deflatine but they don't seem to be working.

She's going to try that now so hopefully it might work as she is in a bit of pain.

Go to the Doctor perhaps this is a mis-selfdiagnosis.

    Go to a doctor.
There are many possible problems that may be causing this.
Do not hesitate- go to a doctor IMMEDIATELY and get it checked out.

Thanks for all the help, she took some Andrew's Liver Salts and they seem to be helping. We think it could of been a reaction caused from tablets she was put on by her doc.

I find the best way to get rid of trapped wind is to start plugging and unplugging things down the back of the pc, assuming its a tower and is located on ground level.

Simply go on all fours, then lower your upper body so that your shoulders are below your arse (should be leaning on an elbow or forearm at this stage) and pretty soon any trapped wind within will be expelled with varying amounts of force.

What were the tablets the doc put her on? Is stopping them a possiblity.

Andrews Liver Salts worked for me before when nothing else would. They "worked" by making me vomit though, and I'm not 100% sure that that was the desired effect.

I though I had trapped wind once.

I was on an operating table 2 hours later, minus my appendix...

Bread soda mixed with a little warm water is great for getting rid of trapped wind

Thanks for all the feedback, we have now discovered it's a side effect caused by some new medication she is taking.
