Case / PSU / Cooling

    The case I currently have is about 2 years. The cooling isn't great (only the processor fan and the PSU came with it). Speedfan currently says my temp is ~50C, which isn't too healthy :( - Also, there's a fan which makes horrible noises every so often (the noises stop if I start and exit out of speedfan...)

    Anyway, I was thinking of changing the three components - this is where I need a bit of help ;)

    Browsing komplett, and this case seems like a nice choice. Now I'm stuck. What would be a good PSU? Would I be better off going for a 400W one, or would a lower spec on do?

    Also, with cooling. The cooler the better, but would this increase the noise of the system? Is there a happy medium? I supose a CPU fan would also be beneficial (I currently have an AMD XP 2600+ and I'm using the fan/heatsink supplied with it.)

    I feel pretty lost when it comes to cooling. I never really looked into it before, and used the supplied PSU/fans - so if anyone could recommend something I'd be grateful :D

    ideally you'd be looking for cases with 120mm fans as they are quieter, that case has a 120mm rear fan and an 80mm front fan

    quick look on komplett for psu's how bout this

    This one might suit you nicely - 120m fan in the back and a 80m in the front and an Antec PSU.Whats the budget and the spec of the machine.

    I got the Cooler master Cavalier from komplett on tuesday, very nice case, both fans are quiet and its at a very good price

    Thanks for the replies. Both PSU's are 350W - is this adequate for running 2 HDDs, 2 DVD drives etc?

    What sort of cooling would I be looking for on the CPU (AMD XP 2600) - are heatsinks > fans?

    Nukem: I think that case is ugly tbh :( - budget could be between €100-200 for everything depending.

    Spec:
    AMD XP 2600;
    1GB DDR400 3200 RAM;
    160GB + 80GB HDDs;
    ATi Radeon 9600 XT

    kinkster: Are there 2 fans in it?

    This PSU is 350 watts aswell but i was told it gives out around 400 Watts

    Yes there are 2 fans, a 120 mm in the back and an 80mm in front behind where the hard-drives will be

    350 is enough, but be on the safe side and get a 400, i did a quick psu calc and it was 273

    Deer god do not buy the tsunami!!!
    It's the loudest case i've ever heard in my life. Louder than a 5 fan thermaltake with a Qtec powersupply!
    Get one of these babies and youre sorted http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=305069&cks=PRL

    Are there any quiet cases that look good too? ;)

    The tsunami actually doesnt look nice in the flesh. I thought it was sexy as hell on the komplett website, but it looks awful in person. The front panel scratches incredibly easily, from anything at all. Also, the rest of the case looks like plastic painted with nail varnish.

    ive worked with the black tsunami, non-windowed and i think its one of the most beautiful cases ive ever seen, no tooling and i sure as hell didnt think it was loud
